Hello,

This whole thing has taken much longer than it should have, but I have done it. Chapter One has been updated. 

This whole project has gone through quite a bit behind the scenes. I wanted to re-do the beginning, I wanted to stretch out a prologue. I was considering turning it all on it's head, and revamping characters (which, I mean, I have cut some and fixed up the later plot, which is good). This is one of the reasons I took so long, because after trying some of that, I did not like it, and went back to this. At some point, I hope to come back and figure out what I want to do to fix this. But, I had to move on. It wasn't working and the story just wasn't going anywhere.

So, that's on my to-do list in the future. More immediately, I need to fix the stat system, specifically the personality one. I just am not wrapping my head around the current system, it isn't fun to me to write and as a reader these systems are, at best, fine? So, I want to go back and fix that. And it's important I do this before I get much farther. As much as there are set characteristics of The Marked, I still very much want the player to feel like they have a proper say in them.

Otherwise, I enjoyed introducing some important characters and fashion. There was mentions before about the Marked and lack of customization in physical things- and I want to reassure I plan to let players change their hair and do a bit more with the fashion. The MC comes from a place where there was strict expectations on them for appearance. And one of the good things about what's happened to them is they've gained freedom to actually do more with their own appearance. I also do have plans to integrate an option to choose if The Marked is trans (I know where I want to put it).  The story follows and focuses well past the point of MC being able to transition however they want to, if they wanted to, but it's still a good and important choice to allow players to have.
